Aisha (Radhiya-allahu-‘anhu) narrates that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Marriage is part of my sunnah, and whoever does not follow my sunnah has nothing to do with me.”
(Sunan ibn-Majah)
Green Street Masjid is an historic and established location for holding Islamic marriage services.
An Islamic marriage contract, or Nikah, is a legally binding contract. Nikah is considered to be an integral part of an Islamic marriage and it outlines the rights and responsibilities of the bride and groom.
Both the bride and the groom consent to the marriage of their own free will and a minimum of two witnesses are required for the validation of the marriage.
Green Street Masjid strongly recommends couples separately undertake a legal civil marriage prior to an Islamic Nikah.
