Islam promotes the importance of female education. It does this in a variety of ways, including referencing verses of the Quran, Islam’s holy book, and in hadith, through the authentic traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Ḥadith in Islam refers to what Muslims believe to be a record of the words and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
Green Street Masjid is proud of the fact it was the first organisation in Newham to provide a dedicated facility for women and we offer women-only classes to empower British Muslim women to be able to positively address the challenges facing them.
We believe that education and empowerment helps to create more cohesive communities with a shared understanding of commonalities, as well as a respect for differences.
